THE THREE BUDDHA BODIES
Another concept that is used in Tantric Practice is the notion of the 3 Buddha Bodies.
The purpose of this concept is to change our perception of ordinary appearances that we normally have in our waking life, into the perceptions of a Buddha with their realistic and purified view of reality.
In order to do this, we practice dissolving our ordinary body, speech, and mind into empty space. From there we recognize our mind as the unity of Space, Awareness, and Potential Energy that is called Voidness and Bliss. We recognize the relationship between our mind and the Bardo or gap.
From there we visualize our energy body that would arise as the dream body or bardo body as arising in the form of the Sambhogakaya or Bliss body of an enlightened being.
Just as we are enter our new life through rebirth, we imagine we create the Emanation Body of an enlightened being from our Bliss body or energy body.
This is how we change our ordinary arising as a suffering human being into the pure arising of an enlightened being.
By visualizing it happening over and over again, it eventually begins to happen in real life. This works in the same way as imagining we are a professional tennis player and imitating them to the point where we actually become as good as a professional tennis player.
